B.A. – Biola University, MDiv.-Talbot Theological Seminary, ThM.- Fuller Theological Seminary, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in psychology – University of Nebraska in Lincoln. He is a licensed clinical psychologist in both Arkansas and Colorado. Dr. Oliver is a Clinical Member and Approved Supervisor of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). He has earned the Certified Family Life Educator (C.F.L.E.) diploma by The National Council on Family Relations.
Authored or co-authored more 20 books and 300 professional and popular articles, as well as his Emotional & Relational Intelligence (ERQTM) workshops, and Growth-FocusedTM Marriage Enrichment Seminars.
Gary is married to Linda. They have four children and three phenomenal and gifted grandchildren.
