Justin is a licensed psychologist and teaches at Phoenix Seminary where he is also the director of the counseling program. Justin grew up in southeast Asia, the son of missionary parents. He has been a part of three successful church plants in America (30, 17, and 12 years old!) and is an elder at his current church. Dr. Smith is currently the Secretary of the Arizona Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and the Clinical Director of the Arizona Association for Marriage and Family Therapy Supervision and Education Committee.

He has written and spoken nationally on marriage and family therapy, supervision, ethics, trauma, and working with sex offenders. His current publications and books include: Characteristics and Typologies of Sex Offenders; and The Long Journey Home: Understanding and Ministering to the Sexually Abused.
Justin and Mary Smith have been married for 22 years and have two teenage children.
